Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which will see actors Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor together on screen for the first time, has run into some trouble with the Censor Board. The second promo of the film, which went on air a few days ago, includes a scene where Kareena is seen pinching Imran’s behind in jest.
But the Censor Board of Film Certification asked the makers to delete the scene after deeming it inappropriate for the TV audience.
Upset with the decision of the authority, writer-director Shakun Batra says, “There was nothing objectionable in the scene. It establishes their chemistry and it’s a cute. It doesn’t look vulgar. It’s funny and only makes you laugh.”
Imran, meanwhile, is equally aghast by the decision. “I don’t find it embarrassing at all. It’s a privilege to get pinched by Kareena,” he says. The film is being co-produced by filmmaker Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and UTV Motion Pictures.
Apart from preparing to launch another promo before the film’s release, on February 10, the makers are also waiting to see if they will be able to retain the scene in the film. The romantic comedy stars Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani, Ram Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles.
