Highlight Story

Chitrangada Singh has confirmed that she is doing mentor Sudhir Mishra’s next film. Refuting reports of Ekta Kapoor wanting Prachi Desai for the film, Singh says, "Yes, Prachi’s name was doing the rounds but Sudhir wants me. I’m reading the script."

Mishra admits that Singh’s playing a fashion designer in the film tentatively titled New New Delhi and not Driver as reported.

No conflicts

"It’s set in a world of money, power and lust. Chitrangada is my find and I love working with her. She fits the role perfectly so the question of anyone else doing it doesn’t arise. We have still to finalise the hero."

ChitrangadaAny issues between him and Kapoor over the choice of leading lady? Mishra laughs, "We are not kids. As a producer, she has a right to agree or disagree with me over the choice of story or actors. But as a director I am known to cast right. I won’t give in to any pressures."

They are still debating over the cast of Ek Aur Love Story that Kapoor is producing.

Rumours galore
And Mishra is in talks with Prakash Jha for New New Delhi. “If all goes well, he will produce it,” he says. “Our sensibilities match, he produced my Khoya Khoya Chand earlier.”

Mishra is upset on Singh’s behalf: “There’ve been reports of her being replaced, in my film, Mani Ratnam’s and Rohit Dhawan’s films. She has not reacted to them but I’m wondering where these baseless rumours are coming from.”
