A few days ago, the makers of Chitrangda Singh’s next film Inkaar cut a theatrical trailer. But after getting the job done, they realised that the promo included a couple of lines that may not make it to the final theatrical, as they would be too explicit or a little too saucy for everyone’s taste.
So now, keeping that in mind the makers — Viacom 18 and director Sudhir Mishra — have decided to release these controversial dialogues on the internet, as teasers.
An insider close to the project says, “Everyone brainstormed over this situation and after a lengthy discussion they decided to do this in order to avoid any unpleasant situations later. One particular dialogue, which was debated, involves Chitrangda saying: “Yes, my boss has taught me everything. However, that doesn’t mean that I will spread my legs every time he walks into the room’.” So as part of their new marketing strategy, the makers will promote 10-15 second-long clips from the film, on the web, to grab the attention of youngsters who are either starting their careers or are new to their workplace.
“Since the film has a bold and controversial subject and talks about sexual harassment in the office, there are a few dialogues that might raise eyebrows. The makers do not want to take any chances,” adds the insider.
For the uninitiated, Chitrangda and Arjun Rampal will team up for the first time in Inkaar. When contacted, the film’s spokesperson confirmed the news, saying: “Inkaar is a bold statement on gender relationships within an office environment. Hence, we have quite a few lines that are explicit and hard-hitting. We plan to make them go viral on the Internet to create excitement.”
