Karz

Directed by Subhash Ghai, Karz (1980), which stars Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim and Simmi Garewal, is a film based on reincarnation. It became an immediate hit at the box-office.

Umrao Jaan (1981), directed by Muzaffer Ali, is based on the Urdu novel — Umrao Jaan Ada. Starring Rekha and Farooq Shaikh, the film featured iconic songs like Dil Cheez Kya Hai.

Produced by Rajendra Kumar, Love Story (1981) stars Kumar Gaurav and Vijeta Pandit. With music by RD Burman, the film, a remake of the hit Bengali film, Chhadmabeshi, became a blockbuster.

Chashme Buddoor (1981) is a romantic comedy starring Farooq Shaikh and Deepti Naval. With music by Raj Kamal, the movie did fairly well at the box office.

Ek Duuje Ke Liye


Directed by K Balachander, Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981), starring Kamal Hassan and Rati Agnihotri, became a big hit at the box office. The songs of the film were appreciated by everybody.
