Pre-production work on Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor's co-production, Ek Thi Daayan, was stalled yesterday when a leopard strayed onto the movie’s sets in Film City, Goregaon.

Director Kanan Iyer landed up to work, only to be told by the forest department authorities to go home. “The people from the forest department were waiting outside the film’s sets when I got there with the unit. They were waiting for another team to come and help escort the leopard out. We were all told to go back. So it was a wasted day,” says Kanan.

Fortunately, there was no one on the sets when the incident happened. “Thankfully, we begin shooting only from June 13, so none of the actors were present,” says Kanan.

Ek Thi Dayaan, which stars Emraan Hashmi, Konkana Sen Sharma and Kalki Koechlin, is about a troubled magician, and will involve magic and witchcraft.
