Bollywood’s award season kicked off on Thursday night with the very first award show of the year — the 17th Annual Star Screen Awards. Held in Mumbai, the evening saw sizzling performances and surprising wins.



While actor Shah Rukh Khan’s performance was a tribute to his leading ladies, Katrina Kaif gave a live performance on the hit item song

was the big winner of the evening — with a total of six awards including Best Actor Male for Sallu and Most Promising Newcomer —Female for Sonakshi Sinha. However, the film wasn’t even nominated in the Best Film list. Asked how she felt about this miss, his ex-girlfriend Katrina diplomatically replied, “I haven’t won too many awards anyway, so I’ll tell Salman these things don't matter.”



However, Kat did later go on to win the Best Actor Popular Choice award while actor Vidya Balan won the Best Actor- Female award.
