When it comes to creating some Tamasha, you can always bank on Ranbir Kapoor. Add his co-star from the Imtiaz Ali film, Deepika Padukone, to the mix and you have all the ingredients for a hot off the rack news.

The occasion was the launch of Tamasha’s new track, Wat Wat Wat and the film’s leads could not be together. While Deepika launched the song alone, ex-boyfriend Ranbir weighed in through a video call from London where he is shooting for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma.

The actor told Deepika as a bemused audience watched, “Tum pehle bhi itni khoobsurat thi... ya waqt ne kiya koi haseen sitam.” Before you read too much into it, let us remind you that this is the famous dialogue from the pair’s hit, Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Speaking to the “We all work so hard on every movie and want each one to have its own space to do it... sort of properly. But I look at the overall picture, of course I am selfish as an actor,” Deepika said at the unveiling of the video of “Wat wat wat” song from her forthcoming film Tamasha. Ranbir and Deepika also danced to Tamasha’s song Matargashti for the audience, albeit in different time zones.

Speaking to the media after the launch, Deepika said she is elated that this year has been one of the best.

“While Piku has already released, now we have Tamasha and then Bajirao Mastani. So, as an actor I am very happy,” said the 29-year-old.
