Deepika Padukone, who is currently riding high on the success of her last three releases- Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express, has recently come back from a long-impending holiday with her family. And now, the actor has already joined the cast of her next, Happy New Year, in Dubai for a shooting schedule. We’ve been informed that the actor is all set to don an entirely new avatar in this film.

“Deepika will play the role of an out-of-work bar dancer from Maharashtra (during the time when dance bars were banned). And her role will have significance in the lives of all the five leading men,” reveals an industry insider. At present, Deepika has a two-week sc.hedule in Dubai, after which the next schedule will take place in Goa. In a previous interview, director Farah Khan had told us that the leading lady in the film will be a Marathi girl who is an excellent dancer.

The source adds, “They’re shooting for a song called ‘Indiawaale’ in Dubai which is basically a song that represents the country. Since the actors are participating in a dance competition with contestants from various other countries, this song will be a cheer-leader anthem for the nation. All the men will be portrayed as atrocious dancers and Deepika will help them win the dance trophy.”
