Deepika-Ranveer's Bajirao Mastani delayed?
Eight years after shooting Jab We Met in the state, Shahid Kapoor is excited about revisiting it for upcoming film Udta Punjab.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next — Bajirao Mastani, a period film starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra — may not be able to stick to its original release date (around Christmas this year). Word is that it will hit screens only next year.
A source tells us, "Ranveer has been shooting since last October, and he has filmed some portions with Priyanka, before she left for Los Angeles, USA for a few months. Deepika will now join the team for the first time in Jaipur, where they are currently based."
This schedule — which will last for over a month — involves the shooting of major war scenes featuring horses and elephants. Later, the team will shoot in Mumbai too. "Bhansali is known to shoot on a lavish scale, and he takes his time in order to get the best out of everything. The film has ten songs, and one of them features all three actors. Also, since it’s a period film, it will involve a lot of VFX, and this process will take a lot of time to complete," adds the source.
It doesn’t help that the actors also have multiple commitments to juggle. Keeping all these factors in mind, the source says it’s only natural that the film will have a delayed release.
