If you eat, breathe and sleep movies, then Desimartini.com, HT Media’s movie reviews and ratings website, is your destination. It has been revamped, bringing a whole new focus on what users think about a movie. Now, the site not only has reviews from critics but also from users. “We want to be the voice of the public on the latest and upcoming movies. We intend to be the platform where they can discuss movies,” says Amit Garg Business head, HT media digital.

Besides ratings and reviews, the website also offers information such as storylines, trailers, songs, photos and a short verdict on each movie. The site, which already covers Bollywood, Hollywood and Tamil movies, will expand to include regional cinema, too. In fact, in a few weeks, an all-new design and a section on news and celebrities will also be added.

Users of the website are all for the new avatar. Nisha Chakravarty, 22, a graduate from Delhi University, says, “I consult the reviews on the website and then decide whether to go for a movie or not. It would be interesting to see the information on regional cinema.” Mohit Ramsingh, 20, says, “The new section on photos and trailers is interesting and I like how user’s feedback is taken seriously on the site.”

The website has also established a growing presence on Facebook with over 180,000 followers on its page titled, Desimartini Movies. Users can also avail the mobile platform — an SMS of the keyword Movies to a short code 542420, gives you the ratings and verdicts of whatever is playing in theatres.

Kolaveri Di!
Desimartini.com is conducting a poll on Kolaveri Di — a song from the upcoming Tamil film, 3, which has become a rage across the country — on a special page titled kolaveriSongs.com. “We’re conducting a poll on Kolaveri Di. We’d like to capture the public sentiment,” says Garg. As per the survey, 3000 users feel it’s the tune that made them fall in love with the song. While 523 users voted for the lyrics and 404 feel it’s Rajinikanth’s blessings that has made it a blockbuster, 200 users say the song is sad and brings tear to their eyes.
