The cast and crew of R Balki’s next had an adventurous experience during a 10-day shooting schedule in Finland recently.

Actors Dhanush and Akshara Haasan were among those on the sets at Lapland, close to Helsinki, when a snow storm hit the area. Due to the sudden change in weather, the team had no choice but to walk back to safety 10 km away, lugging heavy equipment with them.

"They were shooting when the snow storm occurred, and the entire team found themselves in jeopardy. There were 33 members from the production team, including 15 women. They could not have waited for any vehicle or chopper to rescue them when the saw the storm, so they walked the entire distance at 3 am, carrying all the equipment," says an insider.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is also part of the film, was not present. "He was not a part of that schedule," explains the insider, adding, "Choreographers Bosco and Caesar were on the sets, filming a dance sequence. Although they had wrapped up shooting that day, they had to return the next day to continue the shoot. It was not possible to delay it as they had permissions in place for only 10 days."

Thankfully, the team returned safely, without any mishaps. Balki tells us, "Everything went off well. Though it was an adventure for all of us, thinking of it now, it was very challenging and something none of us will forget."
