Veteran actor Dharmendra, who will soon return to the big screen with the sequel to the 2011 hit, Yamla Pagla Deewana, is taking a keen interest in the film’s promotional activities. The Sholay (1975) star recently came up with the idea to offer a section of the audience an opportunity to watch the film’s first look through an actual bioscope.
“Numerous traditional bioscopes are being sourced by the makers. They will then be placed at cinema halls across the country,” informs a source close to the film, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2.
However, due to the limited number of bioscopes available, the opportunity to watch the first look through the vintage gadget will be restrained to a select few winners of film-related contests. “They will be able to get their pictures clicked with the bioscopes too,” adds the insider.
Dharmendra, meanwhile, who happened to come up with this idea while casually brainstorming with the team, is thrilled. “It’s great to see that this unique old-world instrument is being used for our film’s promotions,” he says.
Like the original, the sequel too will bring him together with sons Sunny and Bobby Deol in action-packed comedy roles. “We have tried to make the movie as entertaining as possible. I hope people enjoy it and feel like watching it again and again,” says Sunny.
Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, the film also stars Neha Sharma, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Annu Kapoor and is set to release on June 7.
