Delhi University will be treated to a cultural extravaganza next month, when former Hinduiite Nalin Singh comes to Delhi University’s north campus to promote his film, tentatively titled
My Friend Hitler
, based on Hitler and India’s view of him. Singh, who is co-producing and acting in the film, says screening the film in DU before its release is a tribute to his alma mater.
“The film will first be screened in the university. I have got a lot of support from the students in north campus. I also got the basketball team captain of our time to play a small role in the film,” he says.
Singers Daler Mehendi and Jagjit Singh, who have sung in for the film, will do stage shows in north campus in the follow up to the release. “I will accompany them with Raghubir Yadav who plays Hitler, Neha Dhupia and Nikita Anand,” says Singh who plays the role of Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s right-hand man in the film directed by Rakesh Ranjan. The team has also requested for the film to be made tax-free since it is for the youth.
Singh, who studied was enrolled for English (H) in the college during the same time as ex-Hinduiites film-makers Imtiaz Ali, Loveleen Taandon, Neeraj Pandey and actor Arjun Rampal says Ali who is the creative consultant of the film will also promote the film with the cast. "I knew him in college and he has always been a support,” he says.
