Saawariya’s award-winning music composer Monty Sharma has graduated to film production with Cocaine to ensure that the film’s music gets as much prominence as the film itself.

“Lately, I’ve noticed that a lot of good compositions go unnoticed, either because the film flops miserably, and is off theatres before the score picks up or the music is not publicised and released,” says Monty.

“So I’ve decided that I will compose for my own productions, and ensure that the songs reach out to the public,” reasons Monty, whose brother Guru will direct the film.

Lock kiya jaye?
Word has it that either Ranbir Kapoor or Shahid Kapoor will be roped in to play the lead in the action film, replete with car races and eye-catching stunts. “Yes, we’re in talks with both of them but neither of the boys has given it a go-ahead yet. Once we have our lead actor, the film will be on floors. We’re hoping we’ll be able to lock the deal in the next two or three weeks,” says Monty. The cast of the film includes Zarine Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Praduman Singh and Khushboo Gupta.

Given the high risk involved in film production, Monty has a co-producer on board too. “Cocaine is a joint production with a very close associate of mine. And what better way to take an association forward than to produce a piece of work that we can both be proud of,” beams Monty.

“We’ve even hired Hollywood technicians because we don’t want to leave a stone unturned,” says Monty, who composed the first song for the film in London recently.

The film is expected to have long schedules in Malaysia and Mumbai.
