Ek Villain capped a fabulous two-week run at the box office with Rs 100 crore in its kitty on Thursday. Released on June 27, the film has become the fourth bollywood film this year to enter the prestigious club.
Story of a gangster-turned-good (Siddharth Malhotra) with love and a psycho killer who lives in the guise of an middle-class 'good' man, EK Villain is the 30th movie to enter this club.
After becoming the second biggest opener of the year with Rs 12 crore on the day of its release, Mohit Suri's romantic thriller earned Rs 77.2 crore in its first week itself- the second highest week one collection in 2014.
During its secong week, Ek Villain earned Rs 2.50 crore on Monday, Rs 2.20 crore on Tuesday, Rs 2 crore on Wednesday and Rs 1.7 crore on Thursday and reached the grand total of 101.32 cr.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#EkVillain [Week 2] Mon 2.50 cr, Tue 2.20 cr, Wed 2 cr, Thu 1.74 cr. Grand total: Rs 101.32 cr nett. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER."
