After garnering rave reviews for his performance in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB), Farhan Akhtar is now keen on losing the extra weight he had put on for the film. He has already lost about eight kilos.
"Farhan has lost some weight he had gained for the film. I trained with him a few days ago and he weighed 68 (kilos),” says Samir Jaura, Farhan’s trainer. He adds, "We will take a call on his workout regimen after he finalises his next venture.” Jaura says that Farhan had started training backwards for BMB as the running portions of the film were shot before the army training parts. He had to put on weight for the latter role.
Even after wrapping up with the film’s shoot, Farhan wasn’t ready to rest. “When he finished the last schedule of the film, I told him, ‘Farhan, we both need to chill a bit. So, let’s not see each other’s face for the next 10 days’,” says Jaura. But, interestingly, the next day, Jaura got a call from Farhan at 7 in the morning.
“He was like, let’s go and train. I told him, ‘you just had a gruelling schedule. Rest.’ But the following day itself, he got back to training. Once you start physical training, your lifestyle becomes disciplined and you don’t want to let go of the toned body,” says Jaura, who has been training Farhan for the film since 2011.
Besides the workout, Farhan has been busy writing his next directorial venture. “Though there are no details about the project as yet, Farhan wants to direct a film rather than taking up another acting project,” says an insider close to him.
