Even before his directorial debut, Rise of the Zombie hits theatres, VJ-turned-actor Luke Kenny has already started garnering huge support from his friends and well-wishers. A source close to the actor reveals that not only members of the television fraternity, but a few from the film fraternity are backing his film. Rock On!! (2008) co-actors Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli, along with director Abhishek Kapoor, have come forward to lend whatever support needed to ensure that the film reaches out to as many people as possible. “The Rock On!! team of Purab, Farhan and Arjun are totally aware of the madness we are upto, and were keen to know more about the film when we met up socially. They all seemed eager to see what we have created,” says Luke.

Luke is overwhelmed to see the interest his ex-colleagues like Cyrus Broacha, Raghu Ram of MTV Roadies, Cyrus Sahukar, Gaurav Kapoor and VJ Bani, among others, have shown towards the film. “Their popularity with the youth will only help get the film more visibility. VJ Bani and Raghu Ram have been tweeting regularly,” adds Luke.
Luke and co-writer-director Devaki Singh claim that their directorial venture is a first-of-its-kind in India and horror film lovers will enjoy it to the fullest. “The concept of zombies is enveloping the pop culture globally, and India cannot be left behind anymore,” says Luke.
