and

sizzling chemistry in Shaadi ke Side Effects seems to have done the trick. The film, which got

for its stretched script, opened well and went on to improve its collections over the weekend. While the first day's earnings were Rs 5.7 crore, it garnered Rs 7.55 crore and Rs 8 crore on Saturday and Sunday.

The figures were tweeted by Taran Adarsh on Monday.

The film has done well internationally too where, Adarsh wrote, it got a better opening than Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. While in the Middle-East it earned Rs 3.38 crore, its UK collection was Rs 1.36 crore. In USA it earned Rs 2.97 crore.

The film is about a married couple, Trisha and Sid (Akhtar). They enjoy marital camaraderie till the arrival of their first child puts a break on that. Trish becomes an overweight and nagging wife while Sid retreats into a sort of arrested development where he longs for carefree, child-less days. Saket Chaudhary's directorial debut about the push and pull of marriage also stars Ram Kapoor, Vir Das and Ila Arun.
