Here’s some great news for Bollywood fans: Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Salman Khan are all set for a film together. Earlier rumours claimed Salman’s home production Jugalbandi is the movie that brings the two actors together. Reports now claim that it is a film to be directed by Filmistaan director Nitin Kakkar. This movie, too, is being produced by Salman Khan Films.
Bollywoodlife quoted Nitin Kakkar as saying, “We go on floors with Fawad sometime next year. He is locked in. We are currently in the process of getting an actress on board.” The film will roll early next year when Fawad’s dates are available. However, unlike the director’s last film Filmistan, there is no social message in this one. The director adds, “This is an urbane love story. But more than that, it’s an interesting take on relationships between a boy and a girl.”
Amar Butala, who heads SKF (Salman Khan Films), has been in constant touch with Fawad. The two have decided to work together. “But it’s not for Jugalbandi,” the tabloid quoted a source as saying. “Fawad has greenlit Filmistaan director Nitin Kakkar’s next film instead.”
Hindustan Times could not independently verify the report.
Earlier, when asked about Jugalbandi, Fawad had told HT, “I really can’t comment on that right now. Let’s just say that we have been in talks with a lot of people, maybe Jugalbandi is one of them. Nothing is concrete right now. Besides, I don’t like talking about anything until I haven’t penned it down on a piece of paper. When we are ready to make a public announcement, we will. As of now, we aren’t associated with anything.”
The production house of Salman is currently busy with the Kabir Khan’s directorial venture Tubelight and will start the work on Nitin Kakkar’s project after wrapping up this movie.
Fawad clearly has a lot on his plate, as he will soon be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
