Filmmaker Vikas Bahl who was shooting his Kangna Ranaut starrer Queen in the Capital recently says that film critics should consider giving the film some time before they come out with their review.

“I feel that they should delay the review by say three days or walk in to like the film. There are so many people who work on a film. If a Salman Khan film does well, hundreds of homes run on that. I think personal opinions regarding a new film come out too soon,” says Bahl. The filmmaker whose national award winning film Chillar Party had got mixed and even negative reviews says that while box office success matters, it is an ultimate victory when he receives appreciation. “People come up to me and tell me how Chiller Party is their children’s favourite film,” he says.

Talking of Queen, Bahl says that Kangna was his first choice for the film. “I would probably not have made the film if she hadn’t agreed,” he says. In the film, Kangna plays a girl who goes on her honeymoon alone when her wedding plans fall through. “Anurag Basu introduced me to her and turned out she was a big fan of Chillar Party. I gave the narration and we didn’t even realise when she said yes,” he says.

Delhi also happens to be Bahl’s hometown. “I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot. I knew all the places...all the shops. And there was no problem with the crowd. As long as you tell them things properly, there’s no problem. I would just tell them don’t come in front of the camera, and they were cool,” he adds.
