Unable to pay his debt, Mehul Kumar, acclaimed Bollywood director of Krantiveer and Tiranga fame has taken escape route, reports Mumbai Mirror.
One of his creditors Sunil Bansal and cops from the Versova Police Station went to his house in Raj Classic apartments, Andheri with a non-bailable arrest warrant for him.
Kumar owes banks and private individuals money to the tune of crores and recently, Samata Bank had sealed his Juhu office for non-repayment of Rs 50-lakh loan.
Over the years, legal cases have piled up against him, and now, a Jaipur court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him.
Sunil Bansal had loaned Kumar Rs 10 lakh around six years ago. For the past many days, Bansal had asked his staff to keep a watch around Kumar’s residence. When his men spotted Kumar entering his building, the staff immediately informed Bansal, who in turn alerted the cops.
However, cops and Bansal took around two hours to reach Kumar’s residence. Bansal said, “I had deputed my aide outside Kumar’s residence. At around 10 pm on Wednesday, I was informed that Kumar has just entered the building. The cops took about two hours to reach Raj Classic and by that time, he had fled.”
