John Abraham’s Force 2 may achieve what Farhan Akhtar’s Rock On 2 couldn’t. The film has beat the gloomy mood in the market with a satisfactory collection in its first weekend. Force 2 has earned Rs 20.05 crore in first three days of its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s business figures.
#Force2 saw positive trending over weekend... Weekdays are crucial... Fri 6.05 cr, Sat 6.50 cr, Sun 7.50 cr. Total: ₹ 20.05 cr. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) November 21, 2016
It was believed that demonetisation played a major role in the failure of Rock On 2 as movie buffs felt reluctant in spending cash on tickets. But the collections of Force 2 show an upward movement.
It garnered Rs 6.05 crore on its opening day and then went on to collect Rs 6.50 cr and Rs 7.50 cr respectively in next two days.
It’s a healthy sign for Bollywood films releasing on the coming weeks.
Force 2 is a sequel to 2011 film Force in which John Abraham has reprised his role of Mumbai cop Yashvardhan Singh. Sonakshi Sinha has played a RAW agent in the film, while Tahir Raj Bhasin is seen as a double agent.
