Actor Gul Panag, who will be seen in the sequel to the 2004 film, Ab Tak Chappan, says she agreed to do the film because of the interesting character she gets to play in the film and actor Nana Patekar.
“When I was approached for the film, my first question was ‘what will be my character in the film?’ Because the original was about encounters and squads, which is a very male dominated system,” says the 36-year-old, adding, “Then, I was told that I will be playing an investigative journalist.”
And on hearing that Patekar is also in the film, she was ecstatic. “Besides, I was told that Nana Patekar is there in the film. So I was thrilled at these two opportunities — a chance to work with Nana Patekar and to portray a crime reporter,” she says.
The former-beauty queen, who is busy promoting the film now, further adds, “It has been wonderful working with Nana and I feel an actor who gets a chance to work with Nana is very fortunate.”
The Dor actor is hoping that the audience will like the film, which has been directed by Aejaz Gulab. The 2004 film was helmed by Shimit Amin.
