After the success of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Gunday is Ali Abbas Zafar’s second directorial outing. The film boasts of an interesting star cast — Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The period film, set in 1970’s Calcutta, is about two men who grew from being small time thieves to becoming the most powerful black marketing mafia-men. The film is loaded with lots of action and drama and will have mature romance. All the three characters will will be seen playing Bengalis in the film. Release date: Late 2013
Shootout at Wadala
Sanjay Gupta is back with a sequel to his 2007 film Shootout at Lokhandwala. It revolves around the first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai police, where gangster Manya Surve (played by John Abraham) was shot dead. John’s look with a chiselled body, oiled hair and a tilak on his forehead is quite impressive. Sanjay even took help from Baba Baboish, Manya’s tailor, to perfect John’s look for the movie. After Gangster and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Kangna Ranaut will again be seen portraying a gangster’s girlfriend.

Bejoy Nambiar’s David revolves around the lives of three different men named David played by Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vikram and Vinay Virmani. The female lead will be played by Tabu, Lara Dutta and Isha Sharvani. Three different eras will be shown in the film — 1975 London, 1999 Mumbai and 2010 Goa. Neil will play 30-year-old David who works for a dreaded don. He is a protege who is poised to take over the empire until a revelation which changes the course of his future.

Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns
Tigmanshu Dhulia is ready with the sequel to Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster (2011). While Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill and Randeep Hooda will be reprising their roles from the previous film, new additions to the cast are Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan.

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Again
Milan Luthria’s crime-drama is a sequel to 2010 hit Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan and Sonali Bendre will be seen in significant roles. Khiladi Kumar will get into Dawood Ibrahim’s shoes. Another interesting element is the love triangle between Akshay, Sonakshi and Imran. Askhay-Sonakshi have already been paired twice (Rowdy Rathore and Joker), Imran-Sonakshi pairing is worth watching out for.

Tigmanshu Dhulia has another gangster film under his hat — Bullet Raja. Set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh-based mafia, the film is creating buzz for its unusual pairing — Saif Ali Khan opposite Sonkashi Sinha. Post Omkara (2006), Saif will return as a gangster looking like a hardcore UP-ite. The Race actor has reportedly used real guns to get into the skin of his character. Sonakshi will break her desi girl image and will be seen in a glamourous avatar.

Biopic on a gang war, Zilla Ghaziabad is directed by Anand Kumar. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Vivek Oberoi and Minissha Lamba in lead roles. The story is based on a war between two rival groups of Gujjars, based in Western Uttar Pradesh (Noida and Ghaziabad). Arshad Warsi and Vivek Oberoi play gang leaders and Sanjay Dutt will be seen as a brawny cop. Trailer promises high-level action sequences and power-packed performances.
