Actor Gauahar Khan’s stint on the reality show Bigg Boss 7 made her a household name. While she has never taken up fictional characters on the small screen, she hopes to do a romantic show some day.
“I would love to do quintessential, hardcore romances on the small screen. All the shows these days end up becoming family drama, but if I get a role which would excite me, I would love to take this up,” says Khan, who has been part of other reality show such as Khatron Ke Khiladi, Bigg Boss 8 and India’s Raw Star..
The actor recently made her Bollywood debut in a lead role opposite actor Rajeev Khandelwal in a thriller film. While the film opened to negative reviews, her focus lies in getting recognised as an actor.
“Every actor is remembered by the roles he or she decide to choose. I want to do exciting work and I want to be known for the acting that I do. It is not important for me if the role if big, small, popular or not,” says the actor.
The 32-year-old actor has done small roles in films such as Ishaqzaade (2012) and Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year (2009) and she is very proud of her choices.
“The roles which I have taken up in the past as Chand and Koena Sheikh have got me critical acclaim and I am very proud that I took up these roles,” she says.
