Actor Chitrangada Singh is getting into serious roles again after having portrayed them in flicks such as Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Yeh Saali Zindagi. This time, the 36-year-old is advocating the cause of sexual harassment in her upcoming film, Inkaar. “My character in the film goes to advocate a sexual harassment case. It justifies that how tough it can be for a woman to prove a sexual harassment case than a rape, as you can never say how a man is harassing you,” said the actor.
Directed by her self-confessed mentor Sudhir Mishra, the movie is slated to release in January next year. “Simply put, it is a love story between my and Arjun Rampal’s character where drama seeps in when the sexual harassment case comes to me. But mind you, Arjun is fabulous in the movie,” said Chitrangada, who was recently in the Capital to launch the HP Envy Spectre ultrabook.
Last seen in an item number in the box office dud, Joker, the actor has developed a penchant for serious movies. “I like doing movies that challenge me. Transforming from a model to a Hindi film heroine has made me another person altogether and it satisfied me to take such roles,” said the actor, who will also be seen in I, Me, aur Main opposite actor John Abraham.
