Another year at the movies is drawing to a close, and the film industry is gearing up for plenty of releases in 2015.
While it's hard to predict what trends will rule the industry next year, 2014 has arguably been a year of the ladies. From biopics on women personalities to heroine-centric films, Bollywood's leading women have had plenty of films to showcase their talent. Even as Anushka Sharma gets set to close 2014 with a big release - her only one - this year, industry experts share their thoughts on which actress ruled the roost.
Film-maker Anubhav Sinha says it's been a landmark year for many women.
"I guess Kangana (Ranaut) tops the chart; then come Priyanka (Chopra) and Deepika (Padukone)."
He adds that even Shraddha (Kapoor) "gave a commendable performance this year."

According to trade expert Atul Mohan, "Alia (Bhatt) is my pick of the lot."
He adds, "Kangana did surprise us all with Queen, but at the same time, she shocked us with Revolver Rani."
For Amod Mehra, too, Kangana has been a stand-out performer this year, along with Priyanka.
"Both of them are the heroines of the year. Also, Alia gained popularity and box-office success, and Deepika (Padukone) sustained her success rate this year with Happy New Year," he explains.
Despite many actresses like Katrina Kaif having only one release this year, Mohan points out that younger actresses may have taken over now, but some veterans also made a mark.
"For instance, Rani Mukerji gave a stellar performance in Mardaani. She deserves a special mention in this list."
