Glad that now even big stars are doing realistic cinema: Manoj Bajpayee
Actor Manoj Bajpayee says that since mainstream actors are opting for real stories, these stories will now reach more people.
Although larger-than-life stories, melodrama and glamourous looks form a major part of Bollywood, actor Manoj Bajpayee is one of the few actors who chose to be part of relatively realistic stories. And the 47-year-old is happy to see other actors also taking up such roles. “Films on realistic subjects have always been a big part of my career. I am glad that now even big stars are choosing to be part of these stories. This is a new development, which is great,” he says.
“These stars feel that more people will be able to relate to these films as the situations are very real and relatable. At the same time, when mainstream actors choose these films, the stories reach a wider audience,” he adds.

Manoj has carved a niche for himself in the industry with films such as Aligarh (2016), Special 26 (2013) and Raajneeti (2010). He says that there are some actors in the present generation who he hopes will get their due for being good at the craft. “Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal...I like them and their acting skills. I think they are doing some fabulous work. I really hope and pray that they get their due in the industry. They are honest actors and I hope they get what they are looking for. They are in the industry at the right time, a time when there is enough work for them,” says Manoj, who himself is busy in many projects at the moment.
“This year is very busy for me, as I have many releases planned. You will be seeing a lot of me on the big screen. I hope you the audience will like the films. At present, we are already working on the promotional strategy of the upcoming films,” says Manoj, whose upcoming films include Saat Ucchakkey, Missing and Duronto.
