As she gears up to celebrate Diwali in all its glory today, there are some things that actor Sonakshi Sinha would like to change about the festival. “We can definitely cut down on the number of crackers we burst. Add a deadline that post 10pm you will not burst crackers as it disturbs old people, young kids and animals. Do away with those rockets and bombs for sure,” she says, adding, “Diwali is all about celebrating with your loved ones and showing them that you care and it’s high time we became more considerate.”

This Diwali is extra special for her as it is her brother Kussh Sinha and his wife Taruna Sinha’s first Diwali as a couple. “Diwali will be the usual — going to friends’ houses for dinners and gatherings, catching up with people. The most special thing about this Diwali is that we have a new family member — my sister-in-law. It’s her first Diwali with us, I want it to be amazing for her,” she says.

While work keeps her busy, taking out time for her family on festivals is a must for the Dabangg star. “I always manage to take time out for family and friends on any given festival unless I’m shooting outdoors,” she says.

Reminiscing her childhood days, she says, “I remember celebrating with the entire family. When I was younger, we would have lots of Diwali get-togethers at home and I’d love decorating the house with my mom. I stopped bursting crackers from an early age but there was one phuljhari for shagun.”
