omg

Film: OMG! Oh My God
Cast: Paresh Rawal (last seen in Ferrari Ki Sawaari, 2012), Mithun Chakraborty (last seen in Housefull 2, 2012) and a cameo by Akshay Kumar.
storyline: A shop owner loses faith in God after his antique store is destroyed when a tornado hits the city. He decides to take on God in a court of law. Then, Akshay Kumar aka God pays him a visit.

Director
Umesh Shukla
Last directed Dhoondte Reh Jaoge (2009) Starring Paresh Rawal and Kunal Khemu. The two protagonists want to make a ‘flop film’ so they can win a bet. They didn’t have to try too hard, obviously. Meta stuff, this.

Music
Himesh Reshammiya
According to critics, the soundtrack is surprisingly pleasant. However, no one feels that it is Himesh’s best work, but then we doubt even the musician himself knows what that sounds like.

Controversies/stunts
The Censor Board, for a change, didn’t seem to have any trouble with the story and way God has been protrayed in this film, which only means the ‘moral of the story’ will be everything you’ve expected.

Marketing/hype
Producer Akshay Kumar has a cameo role. Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhudheva have stepped in for an item number. During the promotion, the makers left donation boxes across the city. Must say, usually it takes filmmakers some more time to realise that the film won’t make money.

Our assessment
The concept has caught our curiosity, but seems like the unbeliever will eventually turn sides to give us a ‘lesson’ in the end. As for the box office, poor Kareena Kapoor’s having enough trouble carrying Heroine on her slender shoulders and other parts of her body. Can’t imagine how far Paresh Rawal will have to go for this one, even though Akshay Kumar said in a report that this is not a film which he made to earn money — so, no pressure people.
