Earlier this year, he launched director Anu Menon with the film London, Paris, New York (LPNY), and now, producer-director Goldie Behl is set to launch another newcomer, Nitya Mehra, who has assisted Farhan Akhtar and Mira Nair on many films.
“Yes, Nitya is making a very youth-centric film (yet-untitled) for us. We are confident that she will bring in her young energy as well as the cutting edge of Farhan’s filmmaking style to her first venture. She is still working on the script and in all likelihood, we will start the film by mid-next year,” confirms Goldie.
In the past, Nitya has also directed a special music video in LPNY. “Nitya is very talented. In fact, she helped us with some portions of LPNY too. While many newcomers will be roped in, we might also see a young superstar in the film,” says Goldie, who is currently working on his own directorial after Drona (2006). Ask him about it and Goldie says, “Finally, I have found a script that appealed me and it’s a fabulous story. It’s too early to reveal the details, but very soon, the film will go on the floors.”
Goldie is also set to produce a Bollywood version of Shakespeare’s great work, Hamlet, with director Tigmanshu Dhulia.
