One of the most respected filmmakers and lyricists, Gulzar, who was till now supporting Karan Arora’s film Kya Dilli Kya Lahore as a mentor, has now officially adopted the film and become the presenter of the film.

After 13 years when he directed Hu Tu Tu, this is the first time that a film will have his name in the credit list of the film not as lyricist or writer but as a Presenter as well.

Says a source, “Gulzar Sahab had been associated with Kya Dilli Kya Lahore from script-level mentoring, but recently, he saw the film and agreed to lend his precious name to the project. In fact, the title of the film was also kept after he suggested few names for the film.”

The film is a humorous take on Indo Pak relationships and talks about the bond between an Indian soldier and a Pakistani soldier stationed at Indo-Pak border. The film stars Vijay Raaz, Manu Rishi, Raj Zutshi and Vishwajeet Pradhan.

Says Gulzar, “This subject (partition) is very close to my heart. I have been writing about it a lot. After seeing the film, I was surprised to know that many youngsters have been associated with the film and yet they have brought the essence of the whole film so well. Karan had brought the script to me and after they completed the film, he brought it to show it to me. The film was bang on. The film talks about peace yet is not preachy and there is no blood shed, it is a human drama and very relevant”.

Says Karan Arora, “We are really privileged to have his name associated with the film. When we completed the film and showed him the first cut, he loved it and agreed to bless us by giving his name as a presenter. We couldn’t have asked for more”.
