One of Bollywood’s hottest and currently single actors — Shahid Kapoor — gives relationship advice that you can’t ignore!
On being single on V-Day
The biggest advantage of being single is that I don’t need to give explanations to anybody. For a single man, it’s very rare that your choices will be limited to one person, which happens when you’re in a relationship. When you’re single, it’s either, ‘Oh s**t! I’ve got nobody,’ or, ‘Oh s**t! I’ve got too many.’
Advice to singles
Going out on Valentine’s Day with a girl is a commitment in itself. So, I don’t think it’s a good idea for a guy who wants to stay single, to take a girl out on this day. It will get you into trouble. It’s good for a guy in a relationship to remind his girlfriend of his love. Singles, go out in big groups, so it’s all chilled out.
For the committed
Even if the girl says it’s not a big deal to take her out, don’t fall for it. You must know that any day, which a girl thinks is meant for celebration, must be honoured by the guy. Otherwise, you’re definitely losing brownie points.
Tips for the heartbroken
Both sheep and lions exist in the world in order to maintain the equilibrium. Similarly, when there’s too much mush around, you need some people to balance it out with some not-so-romantic scenarios.
Being single vs being committed
Right now I’m single, so I’m defending the whole ‘being-single-is-great’ thing. If I was asked this when I was in a relationship, due to pressure, I would’ve said that being in one is the best thing. But honestly, it’s great to be single. It doesn’t come often in life, so whenever it does, value it. As during most periods of your life, you will be in a relationship.
