Guzaarish premiere: first of its kind

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been lauded for his out-of-the-box thinking in his noir films but it seems like this time he has pushed a sizeable amount of the film industry out of 'his' box, literally.
It seems the premiere of Bhansali's much-awaited film Guzaarish will see maximum 30 guests, reported Mumbai Mirror.
The alleged reason behind the 'screening' of the guests for the film is the bitter feedback the director received for his last film Saawariya, which had bombed at the box office.Apparently, some of the invitees who had told him that he had made another masterpiece were busy sending out bulk messages against the film during the premiere, doing severe damage to the film, a source told the tabloid.
"What is the sense of inviting people you know are not going to have anything good to say about your film? I am totally against a premiere," Bhansali declared.
"At the same time there are people I want to share the film with. For me, it was more than enough that my mother liked the film. All other opinions, I'll take with a pinch of salt."
So, it seems like a case of once bitten twice shy. In fact, the director became so bitter that he swore never to have a premiere for his film.
That's probably why the filmmaker decided to have a select screening for cast members and family on Monday. But thanks to some close accomplices, the director agreed for a 'small premiere'.
So, now that we've heard enough about who's not invited, the select few who are invited are leading man Hrithik's parents Pinky and Rakesh Roshan, the Bachchans, Rekha, Shabana and Javed Akhtar, Deepika Padukone-Priyanka Chopra-Sonam Kapoor (whom Bhansali calls his teen deviyan), Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri, Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakeysh Mehra and Ranbir Kapoor (who is expected to fly from Dharamsala just for the premiere although he's shooting in a far-off hill resort for Imtiaz Ali's Rock Star).
