Speculation about actors Ranvir Shorey and Konkona Sen Sharma’s marriage falling apart has been rife since long. However, Shorey, who had so far maintained a stoic silence on the subject, finally opens up saying that all’s well between the two.
“I never hid when I got married, so why would I deny it if I was getting divorced? I’m happily married. We’ve recently moved into a new apartment in Versova,” says the 40 year-old, adding, “Every couple has differences, but does that mean they’re getting divorced.”
So, why didn’t he or Konkona react to the speculation? “I’m just a struggling actor and I don’t have a team of lawyers to fight my case against people spreading rumours. Konkona is more mature at handling this,” says Shorey.
In sync with Shorey’s remark, Konkona doesn’t believe in discussing her personal or for that matter, even professional life in public. “I don’t plan anything in life, not even my films,” says the 33-year-old, not revealing more on the family front, forthcoming films or the actors she wants to work with.
Asked if she wants to act with the Khans someday, she retorts, “I have no fascination for any Khan.”
And what about Ranbir Kapoor, with whom she delivered Ayan Mukerji’s super hit debut, Wake Up Sid, in 2009? Did she like his performance in Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani? “I don’t plan these things, and I haven’t watched the film either!” she snaps.
Konkona was last seen in Ek Thi Daayan (2013).
