Lyricist-poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz is one of the most celebrated and popular poets who faced political repression for his revolutionary views. He was born on February 13, 1911 in Kala Qader(Faiz Nagar), Sialkot district in undivided Punjab. Today marks his 106th birth anniversary.

Faiz was an avowed Marxist and he received the Lenin Peace Prize by the Soviet Union in 1962. Celebrating the poet’s birth anniversary, here are some of his most popular ghazals:

Gulon Mein Rang Bhare
