Sonam Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor



Sonam’s mum Sunita is a jewellery designer and runs health clubs. At a jewellery week last year, Sonam walked the ramp for her mother. "She doesn’t like to be in the glam world, she feels ­awkward. She says, ‘why should I be in the limelight just because I am Anil Kapoor’s wife!’," Sonam said in an interview, adding, "She’s my best friend."

Sushmita Sen and Subhra Sen



Subhra Sen is a jeweller with five (three in Dubai, one in Delhi and one in Kuwait). She has revealed that much before Sushmita won the Miss India in the year 1994, she used to visit the Middle East and other countries for exhibitions. Talking about her equation with her mom, Sush was quoted as saying, "My mother has always supported and encouraged me."

John Abraham and Firoza Irani



John’s mom Firoza has been involved in charity work for years, ­especially in aid of cancer patients. Talking about his special bond with mom, John was quoted as saying, "Thank god I have someone like my mother who devotes more time to children, animals and old age homes ... she’s the best mother one can have. I have to credit my mom for teaching me how to be more caring towards the less privileged."

Suzanne has always been involved in charity work towards betterment of women, and now has a charitable trust. Talking about her mom, Katrina, who has been helping her with that, was quoted as ­saying, "I’m happy that my mom is so involved in education and charity. I’m feel lucky that my mother makes sure my charitable donations are used in the best way."

Priyanka Chopra and Madhu Chopra



Priyanka’s mother is a cosmetologist, a qualified pilot and a trained kathak dancer. Dr Madhu Chopra is an ENT specialist and has worked for the Armed Forces for a major part of her professional career. Talking about her bond with her mom, Priyanka has said, "With her around, I have never had to look up to another role model. I have always been very close to her; I’m her pampered one."
