Harshvardhan Rane was overwhelmed when John Abraham offered him to ride his bike as a birthday gift
Actor Harshvardhan Rane, who turns a year older today, is celebrating the day for the first time with his friends, in Rishikesh.
Every birthday, actor Harshvardhan Rane promises himself to become a better and stronger person. To him, more than adding a year to his age, how he matures as a human being, matters the most. The Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) actor believes in preparing himself to encounter new challenges that life throws at him.
“When people, who are close to me, say that they see positive changes in me as I grow, it makes me work harder on myself. Life always surprises us with something new, and I want to be capable enough to handle it,” says Harshvardhan, who turns 34 today.
His lesser-known birthday ritual is to visit a temple, and he says he has been following it for the last 10 years. This year, for the first time, he decided to celebrate his special day with friends — who are not from the industry. “On Saturday early morning, I will be travelling to Rishikesh. We love mountains, and are planning to have a blast for four days, in a no network zone,” he revealed on Friday, while talking to HT.
Who never forgets to wish him on his birthday? Harshvardhan quickly mentions the name of his sister (who lives in Goa), and of course his fans. “In the time of social media, I get lots of wishes. It’s overwhelming! What makes the day most special is the love I get from my fans, who try to make the occasion extra special. Almost 50 days before my birthday, they have started making plans. In fact, I have been receiving letters, too. Some have nice messages (on them) while some have requested to meet me personally, on my birthday. I’ve also heard that some fans are holding meetings in a coffee shop near my house (that I often visit) to discuss the plans for my birthday. All this makes me so happy that I can’t put it in words. I feel humbled,” says the actor as he becomes emotional.
Going down memory lane, he reminisces an anecdote with actor John Abraham. “Last year, John Abraham not just wished me on my birthday but also told me that I can take a spin on his bike. The offer, itself, was big for me though I never encashed it, but he [John] considers his bikes as his babies.”
“And as far as best birthday gift is concerned, it has to be my film [J P Dutta’s] Paltan. It’s my birthday present to myself, and I feel really proud to be a part of it,” says Harshvardhan.
