The next time you are in Mumbai and you look out of your car window, you might spot your favourite Bollywood actor sitting in the auto rickshaw next to you.
Of late, many celebrities have been taking the local transport. While actor Salman Khan took an auto along with actor Nikhil Dwivedi, after brother Sohail Khan’s 46th birthday, actor Hrithik Roshan too, along with his sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan, took an auto back home after a movie.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan also took a local train some time back for his ongoing show, while actor Sonakshi Sinha had to take an auto as she was shooting in a bylane where a car couldn’t navigate. Alia Bhatt even posted a picture on Instagram captioning it as “My favourite ride. Rickshaw ride.”
“This helps in image building. It not only makes them popular among fans, but also invites media attention,” says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
