With more and more Indian actors working in Hollywood ojects, it is evident that Bollywood talent is being recognised and actor Parineeti Chopra is happy that the West is opening gates for desi stars.
“I think every industry, including films, is getting a place in the world market. I am so glad that this kind of exchange is happening now because ultimately Bollywood and Hollywood are doing similar work, entertaining people and making films,” says Chopra.
With her cousin, actor Priyanka Chopra bagging big Hollywood projects now and actor Deepika Padukone working alongside Hollywood star Vin Diesel, Indian films clearly have left an impact on the global audience.
“I am so happy that the level of filmmaking is going up in Bollywood and people are getting a lot of recognition in other film industries as well. It is a matter of pride for everyone,” says the actor.
The actor will be playing a classical singer in her new film with Ayushmann Khurrana, and has crooned for the first time in her career. Asked if she plans to make a solo career as a singer, she says, “I am passionate about singing but I will only be able to decide that after seeing the response I get from this film.”
