Himesh Reshammiya has switched on his daredevilry mode. His next flick Damadamm will clash with SRK’s most ambitious venture RA.One this Diwali.
But the singer is quite confident about his film. “My movie Damadamm is releasing on Diwali with RA.One, which is expected to be the biggest release of this year. But I believe Diwali has a room for everybody. I’m confident about the movie and hope I’m lucky,” said the actor.
“My song Umrao Jaan (from his latest movie, remixed by Edward Maya) has got record breaking success already. Damadamm has broken the music record of Bodyguard,” he added.
How did he decide to tap into comedy genre? “Comedy comes naturally to me. It’s a story of a guy like me, so it wasn’t too difficult. After 5 years of relationship with a nagging and over-possessive girlfriend, he takes a break to enjoy small things in life that he has been missing on,” told Reshammiya.
Himesh is also hosting a web concert which will be live across Facebook, Youtube, ArtistAloud.com, Dailymotion.com and Mobile (Nokia Smart Phones) from 4-5 pm on 29th September. This is probably happening for the first time in digital music history.
Himesh Reshammiya was out of news and business for a long time. “I took a break of 1.5 years to reload my creativity. Bodyguard, for which I have composed 3 songs, is my 101st film,” said the proud singer.
“In the meanwhile, I have opened my music company. Top international DJ Edward Maya did a remix for my first English album, @ Da Edge. Now we have an artist from India who will be launched in 122 countries. Except Netherland, I have performed in every part of the world,” he added.
He’s a music director, singer and actor. What does he enjoys the most? “I enjoy singing the most. Music is in my blood. Singing has given me success and fame. I’m creatively growing as an actor,” he said.
Salman Khan, who has given break to many stars in the film industry, is behind Himesh’s success too. “Salman is my mentor, my brother. He has a big hand in my success and career. I’m grateful to him for giving me Bodyguard. There has never been a problem between us as speculated by media,” said the star.
After tasting failure with his last four films – Aap Kaa Suroor, Karz, Radio and Kajrare, Himesh is not the one to easily give up. We wish him all the best for his upcoming ventures.
