Hollywood Vs Bollywood: Angry Birds beats Veerappan at the box office
RGV’s film is about the dreaded bandit who was killed in 2004, while The Angry Birds Movie is the cinematic transformation of a popular video game.
It doesn’t happen always, but this week Hollywood’s taken a march over Bollywood in box office collections. Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly’s The Angry Birds Movie, surprisingly, beat Ram Gopal Varma’s much hyped Veerappan to the ticket windows, collecting an impressive Rs 2.16 cr, compared to the Rs 1.77 cr the Hindi film could manage. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about both the films’ opening day figures.
