How about Bollywood now, Mr Kejriwal?

The melodramatic, larger-than-life ex-CM of Delhi is a Bollywood buff and we are a fan of his histrionics. So, how about a political potboiler on his, admittedly short, sojourn as the chief minister where he stars as himself?

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned on Friday. Even as the melodramatic activist-turned-politician and his party mull over his next move, a cursory glance at his life in limelight throws up uncanny resemblance between his actions and a typical political potboiler.

To paraphrase the iconic dialogue: Kejriwal ki political life mein masala hai, dharna hai, resignation drama hai, action hai aur tamasha hai.

Be it his protests against corruption alongside social crusader Anna Hazare or entry into active politics, he has grabbed attention for his actions, and the way he does them.

After we ran a poll on who should be the best actor to play him on-screen, an overwhelming majority voted for Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, many of our readers came out with an out-of-the-box idea – why not let the man play himself? And we agree!

What can be more apt than the man whose fight against corruption has been likened to Anil Kapoor's on-screen turn in Nayak actually going on to play one?

Alternatively, Arvind Kejriwal could continue with his dharnas and a camera could simply capture the complete drama. We are grabbing our popcorn anyway.

Here'a our earlier wish list for the role of Kejriwal, should a biopic be made on him.

Anil Kapoor

Do we really need to say it? Wasn't Kejriwal himself inspired by Anil Kapoor's one-day CM in Nayak?

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

You've got to agree - Nawazuddin Siddiqui has got the looks of an aam admi. A grave, broodish temper is an additional benefit that will help him essay Arvind Kejriwal. You can absolutely see him offering to resign on air.

Anupam Kher

Remember Saaransh? Anupam can very well look like the aam admi fighting a battle against the system despite his own woes.

Ajay Devgn

If nothing else, several critics saw parallels between Ajay Devgn's character from Prakash Jha's Satyagraha and Arvind Kejriwal! And thanks to the film, Devgn already has experience of going on dharnas.

Salman Khan

Half of the publicity of Salman's latest Jai Ho circled around the Aam Admi Party. How the aam admi in Jai Ho was diffrent from Kejriwal's aam admi took the rest of the space! It is only befitting if the superstar actually portrayed the anti-corruption crusader and gain some popularity. And we will pay just to see him with a muffler wrapped around his head.
