She has already entered Bollywood with Pooja Bhatt’s Jism 2. But it’s adult film actor Sunny Leone’s husband, Daniel Weber, who worked on the agreement for her second venture, Ragini MMS 2. Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures says that although Sunny was privy to all the details of the sequel to their 2011 horror-thriller, Daniel worked things out with them.
“It’s been a pleasure dealing with Daniel and Sunny. They’re an extremely friendly and affable couple. Daniel and I wrapped the agreement entirely over email, which took around three to four weeks,” says Garg. “We approached Sunny while she was in Los Angeles, and given the vast time difference, it was difficult to schedule daily calls.”
Although Balaji confirms the deal, Sunny has stoked speculation by tweeting this: “For all wondering!! I am only working with @PoojaB1972 for @Jism2 until then I am not going to be in ANY OTHER MOVIE!!!!(sic)” and “@Jism2
will be the only movie I am in till its released to the world!!!(sic).” At the same time, Sunny also clarifies that she isn’t doing an item number, contrary to reports suggesting her item outing in the Zanjeer remake.
As for Ragini MMS 2, Garg maintains it was Pooja (Bhatt) who connected them to Sunny and relayed Balaji’s credentials to her.
“As Sunny is new to Bollywood, she researched the film (Ragini MMS), read the reviews and watched the promos online. After she watched the DVD, she told us that she was totally spooked out and was excited about top-lining the sequel and working with Balaji,” he says.
Ask Garg if Sunny has watched any of Balaji’s films and he says: “Well, she’s seen Ragini MMS for sure. Recently, she saw The Dirty Picture (2011) and enjoyed it. She’s been a huge fan of Vidya since. I’m going to give her DVDs of LSD (2010), Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and (2010) Shor In The City (2011) to watch.”
