For Huma Qureshi who rose to popularity with her role in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), family seems to come before all else. The actor has gone out of her way to make her brother Saqib Saleem feel special by taking a break from work and attending the premiere of his latest film, Mere Dad Ki Maruti. “Huma flew down from Lucknow on Thursday to be with Saqib during the premiere. She was supposed to be in Lucknow till the end of March, but she took special permission from the makers to be with him in Mumbai,” says an insider close to the actor.

Since childhood, Huma has been very close to her brother. “They are best friends. And that’s why she wants to celebrate the release of the film with him,” adds the insider. The duo also hosted a private dinner for family and friends in Mumbai on Thursday night, Huma will fly back to Lucknow on Friday.

Of late, Huma has been juggling three film projects. On the one hand, she has been promoting Ekta Kapoor’s Ek Thi Daayan, even as she finishes shooting for Nikhil Advani’s D-Day. The actor is also working on the Abhishek Chaubey-directed sequel to Ishqiya (2010).
