If you, like us, have been wondering how six-pack ab-ed Varun Dhawan ended up with a name like Humpty Sharma in Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, the answer has been revealed in the film's trailer which launched on Monday.

There were other happy revelations in the trailer of this Karan Johar production, which has been directed by Shahshank Khaitan.

Alia Bhatt's character reminds you of Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, albeit with a typical Delhi twist. Kareena Kapoor is also mentioned by Alia when she tells her relatives, "Main shaadi karoongi to Kareena wala designer lehenga pehen kar…"

Shot in Delhi, the film had those typical scenes whether it is in the Delhi University or on the city's roads or its terraces.

The trailer opens and ends in distinctly filmi fashion. While a sleeping Varun is dreaming of Alia with Mud mud ke na dekh playing in the background, he is watching the climactic scene from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge with tears in his eyes in the last scene. The question is: can the film repeat the success of all the blockbusters it refers to in the trailer?

The film opens on July 11.
