“By nature, I am not a very competitive person. At one point I thought I should be, but that was never my nature. I was never part of any race neither was I running for stardom. Had I been playing the star game, then for sure, I would have been ‘out of sight, out of mind’. To sustain stardom does take a lot,” says Abhay, who will be seen alongside actor Diana Penty and Ali Fazal in the film Happy Bhaag Jayegi.

Abhay Deol feels lucky to be in a postion where he can take time off between projects.

The actor feels that he has been lucky to be able to work at his pace. “I am fortunate I am in this position. I suppose it’s because I have never put myself in that space. I am happy cheering for other people. When my time comes, I will take a walk. There is no competition. My belief has always been- what you can do, I cannot and what I can do, you cannot. There is enough space for everyone,” says Abhay, who has been part of films such as Raanjhanaa (2013), Chakravyuh (2012) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011).
