While in the past, they have worked together on several hits such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and My Name Is Khan (2010) — and they also co-produced Student Of The Year (2012) — Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar haven’t collaborated on a project for a while now.
Last year, when Shah Rukh didn’t appear on Karan’s chat show, rumours of an alleged fallout between the two started doing the rounds. The speculation was fuelled further when Karan was allegedly seen getting ‘friendly’ with Salman Khan and Aamir Khan (Salman made his debut appearance on Karan’s chat show last year).
Salman Khan and KJo get pally.
However, we have now come to know that Shah Rukh and Karan are set to join hands once again.
KJo was seen at a party at Aamir Khan's place recently.
"I am not doing a film directed by Karan as yet. If I am not wrong, he is doing a film with Ranbir (Kapoor), Ash (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) and Anushka (Sharma); and I am not part of it. We (SRK’s production house) are co-producing a film with Karan, which, I think, will be quite interesting because the script is interesting. I recently heard the story. Karan has chosen the script, and he has a good mind. I like the fact that he is joining hands with my company," says Shah Rukh, adding that they have "been in talks" for some time now.
Memories of the past: SRK and Karan Johar strike a playful pose.
SRK poses with old-time buddy Karan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Manish Malhotra in Vancouver during a holiday trip in 2013.
On a film with director Aditya Chopra:
"I don’t know. There’s no confirmation. There have been talks that I might do a film with him, but I have no idea right now. Obviously, we have talked about a few films together, but which one (it will be), we don’t know. There were also talks that it (a film with Aditya) might start next year, but with my surgery (SRK might undergo one soon), I don’t know. I have told him, ‘If I go in for this surgery, then six-eight months will go’. But with Karan and Adi, it (work) can be done at ease."
On doing a biopic on Dhyan Chand:
I was never supposed to do it. Till date, no one has offered me a film on Dhyan Chand. I guess since I did Chak De! India (2007), people think that I will do all the films based on hockey (laughs).
