Actor Karan Mehra, who was also seen in Sunny Leonne-starrer Ragini MMS2 (2014), says that there is a long way to go before he can call himself a star, but for his family he is a superstar already. "I am the first in the family to have it made to showbiz. So, when I appeared on the screen for the first time, my family was really excited about it. For them, I was the next Shah Rukh Khan. I am a hero for my cousins (laughs). They treat me like a star," says Mehra, who started his acting career with Remix.
And Mehra, who garnered praise for his role in Pavitra Rishta, has an interesting story about how he got into acting. "I had no contacts in the industry. And it wasn’t even possible for me to shift to Mumbai to struggle. Thankfully, I didn’t have to struggle, my first role fell into my lap. I had tagged along with a friend who had gone for the audition. As luck would have it, I was chosen," says Mehra.
And the Delhi-born actor’s career has taken a turn for the better. "I am super excited for my upcoming film, an Amit Khanna directorial, in which I play a guy who thinks he is James Bond. Yes, there is a long way to go, but I am happy with the way things are moving."
