Many star kids are headed to Bollywood, and actor Arjun Rampal says that he would “be the happiest” if his daughters - Mahikaa (14) and Myra (11) - join showbiz, too.
“We will have so much more to share with each other and talk about, if they decide to act. However, if they want to do something else, they can. Whatever they want to do, they are at complete liberty to do so. Right now, they are too young to make that plan,” says the actor who was sparked controversy when he met gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, last year. Gawli is serving a life sentence in a murder case at a Mumbai jail.
Rampal, who is portraying the dreaded gang lord in the upcoming film Daddy, had met Gawli at a hospital. The actor says, “It’s a very special film, and an interesting life that Arun Gawli has led. He has been a gangster, who contested elections and actually won it to become an MLA. I had gone to Dagdi Chawl (in Mumbai) recently for Navratra, and the love and affection they have for him is tremendous. Obviously they must have seen a good side of him, which we also explore in our film.”
Talking of films, his upcoming release Rock On 2, which was majorly shot in Shillong, he says, “Shillong’s has been absolutely magnificent. I was there for almost 40 days. Even when I was not filming, I would come back to Mumbai for 2-3 days and be gone back. I didn’t feel like coming back because it such a beautiful place with wonderful people. The nature there is fantastic. I felt like a completely refreshed human being.”
